HOSTEL ACADEMICA IS THE HOSTEL OF THE YEAR 2008! Contest was organized by the Finnish Youth Hostel Federation. At our convivial and affordable summer hotel: - you’ll be right in the heart of Helsinki - each room has its own bathroom and kitchenette - we have plenty of lodging options, from single beds to family rooms, total 260 rooms.
Open during the summer every year - 1st June-1st September.
Rooms:
Spacious, basic budget rooms in a building built year 2000 / renovated 2004. Room with private shower and bathroom, fridge and a kitchenette. No TV, phone or minibar in the room, but available in the lobby.
There is a WLAN in half of the rooms

Facilities:
You can surf in the internet in the hostel's "livingroom". Some of the rooms have WLAN-connection.
You can have a sauna and a swim in the morning.

Location:
The summer hotel is located close to the beautiful Hietaniemi swimming beach, stores, restaurants and sightseeing attractions. Tram and bus stops are on the corner of the block, while the metro, train and bus stations are only a short walk away.
Cancellation and Hotel Policies:
There is no upfront payment, we require valid credit card details to guarantee the reservation, however all clients pay direct to the hotel upon departure. Your credit card will be validated to secure your booking.
There is no charge if cancellations are made two (2) days prior arrival: Cancellations made late or no-shows will be charged one (1) night cancellation / no-show fee.
Please note that on special dates with fairs and exhibitions the cancellation policy may vary.
Academica Hostel opens during the summer every year:
1st June - 1st September.
